Jag har sedan jag tog min grundexamen i biologi 1985 fått förmånen att delta i ett stort antal olika forskningsprojekt i vitt skilda områden, från evolutionär genetik hos fåglar, kommunikation och sångdialekter hos fåglar, och Arktisk tundraekologi till utomhuspedagogik, friluftsliv, ekoturism och upplevelseproduktion. En tvärresa genom akademiska fält från biologi till pedagogik till psykologi och turismvetenskap. Bredd har alltid lockat mig framför smal specialisering och det är alltid ren nyfikenhet som har drivit mig, uppdragsforskning har inte lockande även om det är lättare att få forskningsanslag där. Därför har stor del av min forskning, t ex att bli docent inom upplevelseproduktion varit ofinansierat och bedrivits utöver 100% lärartjänst.
 
Jag har under dessa 30 akademiska år huvudsakligen varit anställd som undervisande lärare och publicerar 33 vetenskapliga peer-review bedömda vetenskapliga artiklar och 7 bokkapitel samt 55 vetenskapliga konferensbidrag (abtracts & full papers), 18 vetenskapliga övriga uppsatser och rapporter och 55 populärvetenskapliga artiklar. Jag har dessutom tagit fram 23 undervisningskompendier & läromedel. Och änn är inte den akademiska resan slut, jag har forskningsmaterial liggandes för ytterligare ca 10 publiceringar.
